A standard solvent exchange is billed as 1.5 hours of assisted use. This service includes:
- Replacement of the mobile phase.
- Replacement of consumable components (e.g., seals and filters), if required due to solvent compatibility.
- Installation of the appropriate columns.
- System calibration in the new mobile phase.
For configurations that include additional detectors, the following assisted-use charges will apply:
- Multi-Angle Light Scattering (MALS) detector: Additional 0.5 hours
- Viscometer detector: Additional 3.0 hours
The solvent exchange fee will be waived for users submitting five or more samples for analysis following the solvent exchange.
If a specialized column not currently available in the facility is required, please consult with facility staff regarding the purchase of a dedicated column.
**Additional Staff Time
Additional staff time may be charged for customized experiment setup, consulting, data discussion, data processing, etc.
Additional staff time may be charged if the user fails to clean the instrument or accessories or leaves the bench area not properly cleaned after use.
Discount Rate for External Users
Discounts are available to external users when the following conditions are met:
- In 1 week, if the total invoice exceeds $3000, a 10% discount is applied
- In 2 weeks, if the total invoice exceeds $6000, a 15% discount is applied
- In 4 weeks, if the total invoice exceeds $9000, a 20% discount is applied
Discounts do not stack
Cancellation Policies/Fees
Cancellations/reschedules within 24 hours ahead of the reservation time will be charged a 1-hour usage fee
For DMA or SAXS experiments, if Liquid Nitrogen is already ordered before the user’s cancellation, said user will be charged for a full tank of Liquid Nitrogen
For drop-off samples, no fees will be charged if the user cancels the reservation
